These works were undertaken as part of a scheme by Cork County Council to upgrade the Sewerage Scheme in Cloghroe Co. Cork.
Over 4m deep sheet piles were part of the Kerry sewerage scheme.
Over 4m deep sheet piles were needed in Freshford Pumping Station. Driven in an extremely compact triangular site between the main road and two rivers.

Sheet piling is a method of driven piling using thin interlocking sheets of steel to obtain a constant barrier in the ground. The main use of sheet piles is in retaining walls and cofferdams erected to enable permanent works to proceed. Piles are drivin using a vibrating hammer to establish sheet piles.
